A farmer from Zitong country in Sichuan province who used another man's personal information to get married some nine years ago learned only last Thursday that his marriage to his wife was illegal.
The farmer, surnamed Yin, said he married his wife on Sept 18, 2000 using the personal information of his wife's cousin because he had not reached the legal age for marriage.
Last week, Yin visited a local court to seek divorce when he was told not to bother, as his marriage was anyway invalid.
