Guna Tayar Diluluskan SIRIM - JKJR

July 10, 2009 18:13 PM

Pemilik Kenderaan Mesti

Guna Tayar Diluluskan SIRIM - JKJR

Persatuan yang terbabit terdiri daripada Malaysian Association of Tyre Retreaders and Dealer Society, Tyre Retreading Manufacturers Association of Malaysia dan Association of Tyre Importers Kuala Lumpur.

Hadi perlu pergi Sarawak

Hadi perlu pergi Sarawak agar

The Beer Prayer

Our lager,
Which art in barrels,
Hollowed be thy drink.
I will be drunk
At home as in the travern.
Give us this day our foamy head,
And forgive us our spillages,
As we forgive those who spill against us
And lead us not into incarceration,
But deliver us from hangerovers.
For thine is the beer. he bitter and The lagerForever and ever,

Party Chief Dreams Of ‘1SUPP' Before Calling It A Day

Miri - Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Dr George Chan dreams of a ‘1SUPP' before he retires as its president.

Addressing diners coming to celebrate Sarawak United People's Party (SUPP) 50th anniversary on Sunday, Dr Chan said his dream is also his wish, and that is SUPP becomes one big family and will be recognised by all and sundry as 1SUPP.

He said he would want to see ‘1SUPP' a reality before he retires.

"While we dream of the nation's ultimate goal of 1Malaysia, let us in SUPP fulfil our own little dream of 1SUPP. While we celebrate our 50th year of existence, let us not forget that it was the spirit of 1SUPP that has kept us relevant all these 50 years," Dr Chan said.

He said 1SUPP meant that every party member should think alike and that with just one member thinking differently it could spell disaster for the party.

"We are living in an environment that demands that we use every resource that we have...every able-bodied member we can gather for the battle ahead," he said.

Quoting the late Chinese premier Deng Xia Ping, Dr Chan said: "Black cat, white cat, as long as you can catch mice you are a good cat, we need you. However, I would like to add this, that is, if you only catch mice for yourself and not for the party, you are a bad cat as far as the party is concerned."

Dr Chan said the signs were good in that party members were concerned about unity in the party and many were willing to swallow their pride and dignity for the greater good.

"Let us not be judged by history that because of our pride, our stubbornness and selfishness we sacrifice not only our good name but that of our pride too. It does take a lot of effort to wash away that sins of betrayal to the party," he said.

On SUPP's 50 years of history, he said members should feel proud of what they had contributed to the peace, stability and development of the state.

He said many must wonder what kept the party alive and well, and what kept it together, in spite of the challenges through those years.

"Each and every period had tremendous challenges as we tried to fulfil the wishes of the people for a just and fair society and a Sarawak that promises a better tomorrow for everyone - from the slums of the city to the wandering Penan tribe," he said.

According to Dr Chan, building a just and fair society remains the cornerstone of the party's struggle and this is well-reflected in all their meetings, activities and policies.

He said it was such a struggle that had enabled SUPP leaders and members to respond well to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak's call for 1Malaysia

"This is exactly what SUPP has been fighting for. If ever there is a genie who can grant me one wish, my wish is that 1Malaysia succeed and that every Malaysian will have a place under the Malaysian sun. When that day comes, Malaysia can truly say, we are one nation, one people with one destiny," Dr Chan said.

Present were Minister of Plantation, Green Technology and Water Datuk Peter Chin, Sibuti MP Ahmad Lai Bujang, Assistant Minister of Infrastructure Development and Communication Datuk Lee Kim Shin, Pujut and Lambir assemblymen Andy Chia and Aidan Wing, respectively, SUPP secretary-general Datuk Sim Kheng Hui and Miri mayor Lawrence Lai.

More than 5,000 members, party supporters and invited guests from Barisan Nasional component parties attended the dinner held at Eastwood Valley Golf and Country Club. The dinner also witnessed the presen-tation of award to the party founders and the launching of the party website. -- Courtesy of The Borneo Post Online

1Malaysia Concept A Practice In SPDP

1Malaysia Concept A Practice In SPDP Since Formation

MIRI, July 12 (Bernama) -- Sarawak Progressive Democratic Party (SPDP) has no problem adopting Prime Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Tun Razak's 1Malaysia concept as it has been practised in the party since its formation, said SPDP senior vice-president Datuk Jacob Dungau Sagan.

He said SPDP was established on the basis of multi-racialism and this had been shown by the representation in the party which composed of all communities.

"In SPDP, members' racial or religious backgrounds are immaterial, we have the ability to accept and respect each other," he said when officiating the party's Senadin Division trennial general meeting here Sunday.

He said Najib, who passed the 100th day mark in office as Prime Minister yesterday, had also shown his confidence by maintaining SPDP's representation in the Federal Cabinet after taking over the helm from Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

Sagan was reappointed as Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry, while SPDP vice-president Jelaing Mersat was appointed Deputy Home Minister in the Najib-led cabinet.

PPSMI: Hanya pakar

PPSMI: Hanya pakar sains dan metematik layak memberi pandangan

16 Mar 2009 12:23AM

Mengapa kita perlu PPSMI?

Suka saya tekankan, English for communication, Business English, English for Science and Technology dan banyak lagi English itu perlukan skil-skil yang berbeza.

Bila saya memberi penjelasan, mereka akan kata: Can you please explain in simple English? Its too technical!

  1. Catalytic oxidative dehydrogenation of light alkanes
  2. Non-reducible complex metal oxide
  3. Catalytic partial oxidation in a circulating fluidized-bed reactor
  4. Irreducible mass-transport limitations
  5. Flash-pyrolysis in a cyclone reactor

Sime Darby Plans RM100 Million Oil Palm Plantations In Sarawak's NCR Land

SARIKEI, July 9 (Bernama) -- Sime Darby Plantation Sdn Bhd is set to invest an initial RM100 million to develop oil palm plantations on Native Customary Rights (NCR) lands in Julau, about 55 kilometers from here.

Its Plantation Agency and Consultation head Mohd Helmy Othman Basha said the project would cover an area of about 20,000 hectares.

"This is is our first project in Sarawak and incidentally on the state's Native Customary Rights land.

"The project will be in a joint ventureship with landowners from 109 longhouses in three areas namely KJD/Lower Julau, Sungai Julau/Sungai Pitoh and Merurun/Meluan/Entabai," he told reporters on Thursday.

Representing the landowners at the joint venture agreement signing ceremony at a community hall here was the Land Custody and Development Authority (LCDA). Present was State Land Development Minister Datuk Sri Dr James Jemut Masing.

Helmy said the preparatory work would begin after Sime Darby had done and submitted the Social and Environmental Impact Assessment report to the authority concerned.

"We expect to begin in a month's time after this. However, we are very pleased that so far there have been very positive responses from the landowners concerned.

"But we will continue to explain the joint ventureship concept further and to more others. Let the people have very clear understanding for them to appreciate and accept, and for us to proceed smoothly," he said.

In the joint venture, Sime Darby will hold 60 percent equity while the landowners 30 percent and LCDA 10 percent.

Helmy said the target was for Sime Darby to develop around 50,000 hectares in Sarawak and another 50,000 hectares in Sabah.

In a speech earlier, Dr Masing told people in the area not to doubt Sime Darby's ability.

"We are looking at a very well established and leading multinational conglomerate which has about 100 years experience in developing not only oil palm but also rubber plantations in Sabah and the Peninsular.

"Sime Darby too has more than 560,000 hectares under oil palm plantations in the country and in Indonesia," he said.

"I am very optimistic of the success of this joint venture provided the landowners concerned give their fullest co-operation to Sime Darby and LCDA which is looking after their rights and interests," he added.

Dr Masing said a representative chosen from among the landowners would be appointed to sit on the joint venture's board of management to keep them informed on any latest developments.

He said the landowners would stand to gain as through the plantation they could find jobs and business oportunities and receive dividends and bonuses when the crop is harvested.

At the same time, he said, they could enjoy better infrastructure facilities like roads as the company would have to build more roads into the interiors affected.

"Best of all, each individual landowner will know the exact size and location of his or her land which will be officially recognised," he said.

Growing OLD !!

Growing OLD !!

Many people are afraid of growing old. I'm afraid of growing old and be a bore. Many people are afraid of growing old, alone. I'm afraid of growing old, insane, senile. Many people are afraid of losing their looks, curves. I'm afraid of losing my dreams. Many people are afraid of losing their youth. I'm afraid of losing my soul.

When you're 15, 35 seem ancient. When you're 35, 15 seem juvenile. A turn-around in a split second - two decades zoom past and before you know it, it's only a mile to the next millennium. Don't' fear age - it's a right of personhood. Don't fear death - its God's greatest jest. Don't grow old - you don't have to.

Don't date because you're desperate. Don't marry because you're miserable. Don't have kids because you think your genes are superior or you need someone to take care of you in your old age. Don't separate because you think it's fashionable or you think there's no more romance.

Don't drink because you have troubles. Don't gamble because you think winning is inevitable. Don't philander because you think you're irresistible. Most likely, you're not.

Don't associate with people you can't trust. Don't cheat. Don't lie. Don't pretend. Don't try to buy your way into the kingdom of God, because no matter how rich you are you can never pay your dues. Don't dictate because you're smarter.

Don't demand because you're stronger. Don't sleep around because you think you're old enough and know better. Don't hurt your kids because loving them is harder. Don't sell yourself, your family or your ideals and principles.

Don't stagnate. Don't regress. Learn a new skill. Find a new friend. Start a new career. Don't live in the past. Time can't bring anything or anyone back. Don't put your life on hold for possibly Mr. Right. Don't throw your life away on absolutely Mr. Wrong because your biological clock is ticking and you can't afford to have your eggs harvested before the new millennium.

There's always a mad rush to something, somewhere, someone, but victory does not always belong to those who finish first. Sometimes, there is no race to be won only a price to be paid for some of life's more hasty decisions. You can't always go with the throng who could be wrong. Sometimes, you have to be alone to be enlightened.

To terminate your loneliness, reach out to the homeless. To feed your nurturing instincts, care for the needy. To fulfill your parenting fantasies, get a puppy, adopt an abandoned baby. Don't bring another life into this world for all the wrong reasons. To keep yourself warm, buy a jacket. In the long-run, it will be less complicated and less costly. To make yourself happy, pursue your passions and be the best of what you can be.

Simplify your life. Take away the clutter. Get rid of destructive elements - abusive friends, nasty habits and dangerous liaisons. Don't abandon your responsibilities but don't overdose on duty. Don't live life recklessly without thought and feeling for your family. Be true to yourself. Don't commit when you're not ready. Don't keep others waiting needlessly. Fall in love - it's the greatest thing on earth. But take care and remember, after the fall must come to rise.

Go on that trip. Don't postpone it. Say those words. Don't let the moment pass. Do what you must, even at society's scorn. Write poetry. Love deeply. Walk barefoot. Hold hands. Dance with wild abandon. Cry at the movies. Take care of yourself. Don't wait for someone to take care of you. You light up your life. You drive yourself to your destination.

No one completes you - except you. It is true that life doesn't get easier with age. It only gets more challenging. Don't be afraid. Don't lose your capacity to love. Pursue your passions. Live your dreams. Don't lose faith in God. Don't grow old. Just grow up.

Let's Pray

5 fingers

This is so neat. I had never heard this before. This is beautiful - and it is surely worth making the 5 finger prayer a part of our lives.

1. Your thumb is nearest you. So begin your prayers by praying for those closest to you. They are the easiest to remember. To pray for our loved ones is, as C. S. Lewis once said, a "sweet duty."

2. The next finger is the pointing finger. Pray for those who teach, instruct and heal. This includes teachers, doctors, and ministers. They need support and wisdom in pointing others in the right direction. Keep them in your prayers.

3. The next finger is the tallest finger. It reminds us of our leaders. Pray for the president, leaders in business and industry, and administrators. These people shape our nation and guide public opinion. They need God's guidance.

4. The fourth finger is our ring finger. Surprising to many is the fact that this is our weakest finger, as any piano teacher will testify. It should remind us to pray for those who are weak, in trouble or in pain. They need your prayers day and night.

5. And lastly comes our little finger - the smallest finger of all which is where we should place ourselves in relation to God and others. As the Bible says, "The least shall be the greatest among you." Your pinkie should remind you to pray for yourself. By the time you have prayed for the other four groups, your own needs will be put into proper perspective and you will be able to pray for yourself more effectively.
